Princeton's strength as one of America's top research universities brings significant gains to the project at Bukit Tigapuluh. With an illustrious Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) department, and with extensive research being conducted into forest and habitat restoration ecology, the input and expertise that Princeton professors bring will enrich the practice of restoration on-site. Furthermore, we plan to help in the operation of a field station being constructed by WWF, and envision one use of the Thirty Hills land as a real world experimental space to identify best practices for habitat restoration. Collaborating with some other organisations in the region, we would hope that the Princeton Rainforest becomes a space for not only to conserve, but a space where we find the best way to conserve.

Additionally, with Princeton's developing inroads into sustainability, such as the establishment of an environmental institute (Princeton Environmental Institute), and with the growth of a center for sustainability, we believe there is a growing infrastructure of programs on campus that can offer support to the project at Thirty Hills. We envision a future where students are going on research and volunteer trips to Thirty Hills regularly, along with conducting long-term PhD and post-doctoral research.
